TICKETS ON SALE 10AM FRIDAY 17 FEBRUARY
Six Degrees Management is thrilled to announce that for the first time in two years Guy Sebastian will be headlining his own tour across Australia. The tour will run throughout June and July 2012 to coincide with the release of his highly anticipated seventh album Armageddon and will undoubtedly be his biggest and best to date.
Tickets will be available from 10am Friday 17 February. Guy will be visiting more than 30 regional and metropolitan venues for exclusive one night only performances where he will play all the old favourites, as well as songs from his forthcoming album Armageddon, including the brand new, double platinum single Don't Worry Be Happy. I'm so excited to get back out on the road! I'm playing shows in places I've never visited before and I can't wait to get out and do what I do best, which is sing and hang out with my fans. This one is going to be big! says Guy.

Guy is one of Australia's greatest singer-songwriters and has proved his place as an Australian idol. After winning the first series in 2003, Guy captured the hearts of Australians with his unique and incredible vocal talent. Since then his success has carried over into six multi-platinum albums and countless sell-out tours. Add to this his string of awards and the fact he is the only Australian male artist in Australian music history to achieve five chart-topping singles - including Angels Brought Me Here, All I Need Is You, Out With My Baby, Like It Like That and Who's That Girl?  And you can see why Guy truly is a world-class talent. CIRCA is a thoroughly new kind of circus: daring, breathtaking, and cheeky.

This extraordinary troupe has left the high top and drum roll behind and stripped circus bare - and its bold new vision is taking the world by storm.

Rapturously acclaimed around the globe, this is movement at its most adventurous - with a cabaret twist and larrikin's flair.  Combining high energy, sound and innovative audio-visual projections, seven of the world's best performers present jaw-dropping acrobatic feats.

Australia's CiRCA breaks out of the big top to create "a bold new vision of circus as a delightful, provocative and contemporary art form." The troupe of seven extremely athletic artists push the human body to its limits, moving from highly connected acrobatic and tumbling sequences through fast-paced intricate scenes to a haunting finale.

Using tracks by Leonard Cohen, Sigur Ros and Cake, CiRCA blends bodies, lights and sound to create a thrilling, romantic and terrifying ballet of precision tumbling that is not only visually astonishing and powerful but also beautiful and sophisticated.

Yaron Lifschitz, CiRCA's Artistic Director describes the performance, "There are moments that are dynamic and exciting as acrobats fly through the air; then there are moments that are still, lyrical and beautiful as the performers balance precariously on each other or hang in suspension."

After making there Spoleto debut last summer in Charleston, South Carolina The Post and Courier stated, "In an age where technology never ceases to amaze, it is a relief to see the human body alone do the same, bringing the audience to its feet in awe."

It's dangerous, skillful, immediate and powerful...but above all it's intimate and real.

Taste of Two Regions Venue: Old Parliament House, Canberra

Tastes of Two Regions is returning to Canberra on Sunday 1 July, bringing together two outstanding wine growing districts, Rutherglen and the King Valley. Enjoy tastings of regional wines and delicious artisan produce from passionate wine and food entrepreneurs, plus wine theatre sessions and an opportunity to win a short break in our fabulous area.

Winemaking has been at the heart of the Rutherglen region since the 1850s; today it is one of Australia’s most celebrated wine regions. Generations later, the families who founded Rutherglen are still making wine, joined by entrepreneurial newcomers bringing fresh ideas to build on the region’s history. Rutherglen offers a rich diversity of styles – red and white table wines, sparkling wines and its internationally acclaimed fortified wines, all produced with a unique regional character.
The King Valley also has a long grape growing history, but only in relatively recent times has its recognition blossomed for producing outstanding wines based on Italian and other Mediterranean varieties. Wines such as Sangiovese and Prosecco are two varietal highlights that are shaping the region’s burgeoning profile and popularity. Using Italian grape varieties may come as no surprise given the King Valley’s strong Italian heritage, however the match is serendipitous given the similarities in grape growing conditions between the King Valley and Italian wine regions.

Together under the one roof during Tastes of Two Regions, Rutherglen and the King Valley are an unbeatable vinous tour de force, complemented by a range of artisan produce such as farmhouse cheeses, preserves, olive oils and cordials.

Five ordinarily marvellous women find themselves back in their infants school classroom plying their needles in a good old-fashioned session of 'stitch and bitch'. Their confessions are frank, their rivalries intense and their jokes outrageous. They discover a common frustration with the limitations of being female and mature in a world still largely defined by men.

Accidentally locked in the classroom, with nothing but ingenuity, Adora Cream Wafers and a bucket to get them through the crisis, unknown reserves come to the fore. Released from their own constraints, they rediscover their capacity to love, forgive - and take control. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!

Men see their wives, adult children see their mothers, grandchildren see Nana and the mature Australian woman sees herself...

Vulnerable, feisty and in full bloom, these gals are everything - except old!

Since their first acclaimed Australian national tour in 2002 the Grigoryan Brothers performances have astounded audiences world-wide.

Slava and Leonard Grigoryan will be performing music from their latest album 'The Seasons'.

'The Seasons', a twelve movement composition, originally written for solo piano by the great Russian compose Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, has been arrange for two guitars by Slava & Leonard's father Edward.

The program sees the Grigoryan Brothers returning to a more classical setting whilst still pushing the limits of what two classical guitars can accomplish together.

They will also perform a selection of their favourite pieces.  This will include compositions from Brazil and works that display their improvisational skills.

The Grigoryans have released several duo albums, completed Australian national tours and several international tours through Europe, USA, UK, Asia, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates.  They have performed with symphony orchestras and at international festivals in Australia and Europe.  Although regarded as Australia's finest classical guitar duo performing much of the standard guitar repertoire, the Grigoryan brothers' performances include forays into genres including Latin, jazz, folk & contemporary music.

This event is free to attend.

Obedience Trials showcase some of the smartest dogs you have ever seen as they take obedience way beyond the basic commands of sit and stay. Agility involves competitors directing their dogs around obstacle courses in an attempt to both negotiate the obstacles correctly and 'beat the clock'. Obstacles include jumps, ramps, elevated walks, poles that the dogs weave through, different types of tunnels and a see-saw.

One of the great things about the sports of Obedience and Agility is that any type of dog can participate.

Katherine Thomson's Diving for Pearls explores Australian society as it joined the vast world of globalised economics in the 1980's and the consequences of that in the lives of working men and women.

This is the story of working class couple, Barbara and Den, and their heroic struggle for a meaningful life amidst the turmoil of change. In love and facing the challenges and responsibilities of middle-age, they gamely confront pressing issues in their personal and working lives as their small coastal town transforms itself from an old industrial site of factories and warehouses to a brave new world of resorts and plush hotels.

This play is dramatic and moving but tempered by a wry, sometimes hilarious and very Australian sense of humour.

Strong language and adult themes.

The third show for the year is a splendidly choreographed show where the audience experiences elegant illusion to the classical serenades of Mozart, Rossini and Saint-Saëns. Elio Simonetti and his wonderful assistant Eva Salleh perform all manner of magic and sleight of hand manoeuvres. This show is visually stunning and completely engaging with a distinct old worldly feel about it. There are plenty of humorous capers with audience volunteers who are treated with respect - this a welcome departure from the more common “grab a laugh at the volunteer’s expense” style of comedy. Elio and Eva create an on stage experience that is artistic, inventive, impeccably routined and irresistibly entertaining. This show will delight children as well as adults.

Over 90 Victorian performers have been assembled by Melbourne Opera to bring Bizet's dramatic story of Carmen to life.

An opera bursting with energy, Carmen is the story of a smouldering gypsy seductress, who leaves men panting for more. Foresworn to "freedom," she can be embraced, but never possessed.

See how a casual, flirtatious dalliance when mixed with jealousy and obsession becomes a seriously deadly game of chance.

An unforgettable tragedy of shocking and risqu' morality set to a fiery, colourful score infused with the pulsing sensuality of gypsy and Spanish-influenced melodies.

Following their hugely successful tour earlier this year, two of Australia's most loved female artists - songstress Katie Noonan and classical guitarist Karin Schaupp - are teaming up once again, this time exploring music close to home and very close to their hearts. "Songs of the Southern Skies" features some of Australia and New Zealand's best classical, folk, jazz and pop songs. The songs are performed with the intimate combination of Noonan's angelic and versatile voice and Schaupp's lyrical and fiery guitar.

From the Finn Brothers, Cold Chisel, Midnight Oil, Nick Cave, The Divinyls, Sia and Gotye through to traditional folk songs and the works of Peter Sculthorpe, Elena Kats-Chernin, Matthew Hindson, Richard Charlton and the like, Noonan and Schaupp will perform some of the best songs Australia and New Zealand have produced. "We had a HUGE shortlist and it's been very hard to whittle it down to just one programme! We really are spoilt for choice in our own musical backyard" explains Schaupp.

A feast for lovers of all styles of music, this collaboration brings together two artists at the top of their game, true masters of their fields - artists who have enjoyed the challenge of stretching their musical boundaries, and become great friends along the way. Noonan has four ARIA awards and 6 x platinum album sales to her name, whilst Schaupp has been lauded around the world as one of the best classical guitarists of her generation.

Kelly Country Classic Venue: Glenrowan region

EVENT OVERVIEW
It will be ‘kerb-to-kerb’ lycra in Glenrowan’s main street on Sunday 11th November, when cyclists again converge on the town, for the 2012 Kelly Country Classic. Following in the footsteps of the legendary Kelly gang, the ride will start and finish in Glenrowan, with the choice of three routes designed to suit a range of rider abilities and fitness levels. Following in the footsteps  of the legendary Kelly Gang who roamed the region in the 1880's, cyclists will pedal past vineyards, farm gates and historic villages with strong links to the Kelly story.  All rides will start and finish in Glenrowan, a town that resonates with the raw, bittersweet memory of Australia's famous bushranger and his gang.

This year sees the continuation of the 'Ned Kelly Challenge', a gruelling 210km ride that leaves Glenrowan and heads over the Warby Ranges before joining the 150km ride route. If you're looking for a personal challenge this is definitely the ride for you.  On completion of this strenuous ride, participants will be issued with a limited edition commemorative t-shirt to wear with pride.  The difficult 150km 'Dan Kelly Ride' will cover Kelly Country, from Glenrowan to Winton, Lurg, Benalla East, Tatong, Molyullah, Moyhu, Greta and returning to Glenrowan.  The 50km 'Steve Hart Spree' option will take cyclists from Glenrowan to Greta, Moyhu and back to the town, made famous by the Kelly Gang's Last Stand.

CHECKPOINTS
All rides will start and finish at Glenrowan, Victoria.  The ride is well supported with five main checkpoints - Moyhu, Myrrhee, Tatong, Glenrowan & Wangaratta with snacks, drinks and lunch provided to riders as well as a number of town shops en-route.  Please carry 2 water bottles on your bike.  Water and toilets tops are located at Glenrowan, Lurg Hall, Tatong, Myrrhee, Moyhu and Ryan's Lookout.

RIDE ROUTES
The ride routes will be clearly marked with identifiable signage and a map will be provided to all participants when they register on the day.  All roads for the four routes are sealed, however riders will need to be vigilent for road surface variations.
A SAG wagon will follow each of the rides and some mechanical support will be available along the route, however you are expected to be able to change and repair a puncture.  It is also strongly recommended that you have your bike serviced before the event.  If major repairs are carried out during the ride you will be expected to pay for the materials ie: new tubes, tyres, chains etc.

Following months of planning by a dedicated team from the Wangaratta BUGS and Northeast Health Wangaratta we are ready to deliver a first class cycling event offering fabulous scenery and a safe-cycling environment. Against the backdrop of the picturesque Kelly Country, the event promises to be a major attraction for cycling enthusiasts.

All proceeds from the ride will go towards our local hospital, Northeast Health Wangaratta to ensure high levels of quality care continue to be provided to our local community.

Born in Wangandary in 1922, Lorna Chick began painting in the 1960s in a naive style.  One of the regions most celebrated artists, her many large and colourful works depict the landscpaes of the North East in great detail.  Her first success was in 1967 when she wond the Fairley Art Award.  Her work is represented in the National Gallery of Australia, Parliament House Canberra, regional public galleries and many private collections.
